  We stayed at Pullman Maldives for my 40th birthday, we spent a long time looking at different islands, and as we're not buffet meal fans, we wanted an island with... read more plenty of variety available, something that isn't widely available in the Maldives.

We weren't keen on the long transfer ahead but we went with it - and I would highly recommend you do too, don't let it put you off! Once you arrive at this beautiful island you will soon forget about the long journey to get there!!

Our flight arrived into Male at 07:50, our connecting flight to Kooddoo was scheduled for 12:10. We were met on arrival and taken to their lounge, which was a nice haven away from the busy airport. The time flew - and before we knew it we were escorted to the domestic terminal so our little flight to Kooddoo. Once there, a short wait for the sppedboat, and 20mins later arriving at Pullman!

We were greeted on arrival by a number of staff, Maldivian drums, a cool towel and a refreshing drink. A member of the team then took us to a golf buggy, and after a short tour of the island we were at our villa, 115 (Beachfront Pool Villa) Check in is completed in Villa, which is a lovely touch.

Once a quick check in is complete, we were left overwhelmed by our beautiful villa, huge stunning partially outdoor bathroom, terrace with a good size private pool and then 20ft from there to the beach, which was practically private to us too.

We arrived 27th June for 10 days - we were worried about the weather as on paper this is the rainy season - again, don't let this put you off. We had one evening of rain but the rest of the time everyday was bright sunshine and temperatures around 30 degrees. We spoke to one of the buggy drivers and he said the seasons aren't what they were anymore - and haven't been for a number of years.

Food

We aren't buffet lovers - however Melange here is amazing, and we did eat there a number of times. The choices on offer for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner were outstanding. Different cooking stations so you can see your food being prepared, and everything is fresh.

Souq Oven was our favourite with a great steak & wines on the menu! Lovely setting too out on the jetty.

Phat Chameleon is the Vegan option - we're not vegans but found it wonderful. A good choice on the menu and again a lovely setting.

We loved the variety of food and drinks on offer at Pullman - when they say All Inclusive they really do mean All Inclusive. Great wines, champagnes, cocktails, beers and premium spirits always available, and the minibar in the room is also stocked twice daily, with M&M's, pringles, lindt chocolate, soft drinks, beers, wine and bottles of spirits including premium gin, Jack Daniels etc..

We did splash out one night for the Ocean Front dinner, this was $500 for a 5 course menu prepared and cooked next to you on the beach at the end of the island. We timed this for 5pm which meant during the meal we had the most perfect view of the sunset. The menu also included a bottle of premium Champagne not included on the AI menu, however we were served a bottle of champagne that was free with the AI concept. We spoke to the restaurant manager the next day and he arranged for us to have this premium champagne in our room the next day with a fruit platter. Other than that the meal was wonderful, romantically decorated and worth splashing out for - especially for a special occasion!

Saffron Affair was where we ventured to most late afternoons, between 3-5pm they offer free Shisha, the bar is beautiful on a jetty with nets at the end you can sit/lay on over the sea and watch the sunset. Pool table here too and free tapas served late afternoon.

The vouchers you are given as part of the AI are a great idea! We used one for a massage and upgraded to an hour - this was amazing and would highly recommend extending. We did the Sunset Cruise which was fantastic, champagne served during this on the top deck. We also booked the snorkelling on the house reef. I chickened out and stayed on the boat but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it, and saw turtles, sharks and all varieties of reef life.

We took Jet Skis out one day with the voucher - you are escorted out to sea and then able to go as fast as you want! Truly exhilarating and great views back of Pullman Island.

There is a great choice of non motorised watersports, we did kayaking a few times which we really enjoyed.

Evenings were mainly spent at the pool bar by Melange, a great duo performed most evenings, Rhythm and Soul, they were amazing!! They performed a range of songs, and took requests, if they didn't know the song they learnt it for the next day!!

I could go on and on about Pullman Maldives, but just go!! You will not regret it!!

Tips:
* Book a flight which arrives into Male in the morning. We landed at 07:50 and arrived at Pullman around 14:30.

* When booking flights home - pick a departure as late as possible on from MLE. We were picked up at 12:00 from Pullman by the speedboat, and our flight from MLE was 19:45. You will have a departure in the middle of the night if your flight home is early.

* There's a lot of talk on here about which side of the island to be on. We were villa 115 which in our view was on the best side of the island, but don't fret about it like I did, both sides are stunning, I just felt the beach and sea was slightly nicer on our side (100's) rather than the 200's.

  We just returned from our best holiday ever at Pullman Maldives. We stayed in a water villa with Pool, which was spacious and cleaned always. The room boy was very... read more attentive and made us feel at home away from home. The food was outstanding in all the restaurants, and there were lots of options available at the buffet too. Last but not least, the front desk staffs were always very professional and welcoming. Assan, the front desk supervisor, is always willing to help, and he checked on us frequently. The house reef was out of this world. Multicolored corals with lots of fish We can’t wait to return.

When it comes to natural beauty... read more there's no bad place on the Maldives (and we've been multiple times to the Maldives) What makes the experience different is the resort and how well it's maintained. At Pullman - What you see on the pictures and how they advertise the resort is exactly what you get and more.
The beach, the villa, the facilities, the environment - everything is clean and preserved in the best manner. With such nature and lush green vegetation you feel like you're both on a deserted island and in the middle of a jungle at the same time while being pampered and well taken care of 🙂

The food was great. We were a mix of people that like to stick to international food and people that love exploring different tastes and cuisines and we were all happy and satisfied with the variety and options. It was not only the variety but the quality too.

We were initially a little sceptic having to take an additional domestic flight plus a speedboat after arriving at Male since we already had a very long 3 day travel time to Male to begin with and we almost changed our minds because of it but we're glad we didn't. From the moment we landed at Male up to the point of leaving from Male - everything was taken care of by the staff. It seems they have the logistics really well organized. On our departure day we also had a late stay and managed to use the day to enjoy before catching the last flight of the day. All of this was organized by the staff with no additional request by us

The all-inclusive was truly one of the most generous all inclusives. The minibar is refilled twice a day and what i loved about it is that they pay attention to details. They saw what we consumed more and made sure they added more from those drinks on the refill. Just a nice touch 🙂

The staff was very friendly, kind and helpful at all times. Everyone looks very happy and that happiness is spreading!
We want to give a special shoutout and send our regards to Daniel. Although everyone was nice, he always made sure to make our days even better, put a smile on our faces and stand out from the rest of the staff.
